If I need to define Derek in one word it would be - ARTIST.
When we moved into our house, we wanted to change some of the layout and the configuration in our kitchen. we did not want to do a full kitchen rebuild, as most of the kitchen was to our liking. the problem - our kitchen is completely custom, and the company who built it is no longer in business. most cabinet makers we brought in could not match the style of our existing cabinets, or ran away without even giving us a decent "can't do it" as a response.
Then comes Derek - highly recommended by a hardware supplier - he masterfully recreated the exact design, matched our stain, and was really creative about usability and looks for our new-old kitchen.
We highly recommend him. you really want the care and attention to detail that he brings.
We shopped around for cabinet makers before finding Idaho Custom Cabinets. Derek was the only cabinet builder who was willing to tear out, remove, and haul away our outdated, built in, entertainment unit before replacing with a new one (not an easy task). After contracting with Derek, we found him to be everything we had hoped for. He was responsive, professional and, in the end, did a wonderful job for us. I wouldn't hesitate to use Idaho Custom Cabinets again. I highly recommend Derek and his office manager/wife, Vera.

We had Derek design & install our cabinets & could not be happier! We were doing an existing kitchen remodel, so we needed something custom. Derek was always available for any questions we had, and worked with our countertop installer to make sure everything was done right. The cabinets still look great, and are very durable. I would highly recommend!
