Privacy Policy
The short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and shows no advertising. If you send us a quote request, we use it to answer you about your project and nothing else.
Who we are
This website is operated by Splinters, LLC, doing business as Idaho Custom Cabinets. We build custom cabinetry for homes and businesses and serve the Treasure Valley, including Caldwell, Nampa, Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Star and Kuna. We work as a service-area business, so we do not publish a street address.
You can reach us about anything in this policy by phone at (208) 515-8662 during business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, or by email at Idahocustomcabinets@gmail.com.
This policy covers idcustomcabinets.com. It does not cover phone calls, text messages, in-person conversations or a signed job contract, though the same basic rule applies there too: we use what you tell us to do the work you asked for.
What this site is
It is a static, informational website. There are no user accounts, no logins, no shopping cart, no payments and no online ordering. There is nothing here for you to sign up for. The only place you can send us information is a contact or quote form, and using it is your choice.
Information you choose to give us
When you submit a contact or quote form, we collect what you type into it:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address, if you choose to give one (it is optional)
- The city you are in
- The type of project you are asking about
- A free-text description of the work
We ask for these because we cannot price or plan cabinetry without them. The phone number and city tell us whether the job is in our service area and how to reach you. The description tells us what you actually want built. We do not ask for a Social Security number, a date of birth, a bank account or a card number, and you should never send those through a website form.
How form submissions are handled
This site does not run a mail server of its own. When you press submit, the form is sent over an HTTPS connection to a third-party form-delivery service, which turns it into an email and sends it to our business inbox. That service handles the message in transit and keeps a record of the submission so it can be delivered or re-sent. Its privacy and security practices are its own and can change, so we describe them in general terms rather than promising specifics we cannot verify on your behalf. If you would rather not use a form at all, call us on (208) 515-8662 or email us directly — nothing about your enquiry has to pass through this website.
We use what you send for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry, quote it, schedule it and carry out the work if you hire us. We do not add you to a marketing list, we do not use your details for advertising, and we do not send bulk email.
Information collected automatically
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like every web host, Cloudflare records standard server request logs when a page is served. Those logs include your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, and information your browser sends by default such as its user agent string. That is a normal part of delivering a website and protecting it from abuse. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you, and we do not combine them with anything you type into a form.
No third-party content
Every file this website loads — its pages, styles, code, fonts, images, and the graphics library behind the animated 3D panel on the home page — is served from our own domain. Your browser is never sent to another company's server to render this site, so no outside network receives your IP address simply because you visited a page here.
The only time information leaves our domain is when you choose to submit the quote form. If you never submit it, no third party learns anything about your visit.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
This site sets no cookies of its own. There are no third-party cookies. There is no analytics package, no visitor counter, no heatmap, no session recorder, no advertising network and no tracking pixel from any social platform. We do not know how many people visited a given page, and we are fine with that.
The fonts used on the site are self-hosted from our own domain. There is no Google Fonts request, so no font data goes to Google.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a Do Not Track signal. Because this site does not track visitors across time or across other websites in the first place, there is nothing for that signal to switch off. We do not change our behaviour based on it, and we do not allow anyone else to track you here.
Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information. We do not rent, trade or share it for anyone else's advertising. The only parties that handle information from this site are:
- Our website host, which serves the pages and keeps standard request logs
- The email delivery provider that turns a submitted form into a message and sends it to us
- Our email provider, which holds the enquiry once it arrives
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena or court order, or if it is necessary to protect our rights or someone's safety.
How long we keep enquiries
We keep a quote request no longer than we need to respond to it and keep a record of the work. A message that turns into a job stays with that job's paperwork. A message that goes nowhere gets deleted from our inbox in the ordinary course of business. We are not going to invent a precise number of days here, because we would not be able to promise it honestly. If you want your enquiry deleted sooner, ask us and we will do it.
Your choices, and how to have your information deleted
You are never required to submit a form to use this site. If you have already sent one and want it removed, call (208) 515-8662 or email Idahocustomcabinets@gmail.com and tell us the name and phone number you used. We will delete what we hold, other than anything we have to keep for a job we actually performed, such as records tied to a signed contract, a warranty claim or our tax and business records. You can also ask us what we have on file, or ask us to correct it.
About state and international privacy laws
We are a small Idaho cabinet shop. The broad consumer privacy statutes people often ask about, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act and the European General Data Protection Regulation, generally do not apply to a business of our size and revenue, and we are not going to claim compliance obligations we do not have. What we will do is treat everyone the same regardless of where they live: anyone can ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, using the phone number or email address above. We will not charge you for asking and we will not treat you differently for asking.
This page also serves as the privacy notice California's Online Privacy Protection Act expects a commercial website to post, and it is linked from the footer of every page on the site.
Children's privacy
This site is aimed at homeowners, builders and business owners hiring a cabinetmaker. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information through a form, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
Some pages may link out to another site, such as a supplier, a builder we have worked with, or a public record of our Idaho contractor registration. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site under someone else's privacy policy. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.
Security
Pages and form submissions on this site are sent over HTTPS. That protects the contents in transit between your browser and the receiving service. Beyond that, no website can promise perfect security, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Please do not send payment details, account numbers or government identification through the form.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes, such as adding analytics or a new third-party service, will be described here in plain language rather than buried. There are no accounts on this site, so we have no way to email you about a change. Checking this page is the way to see the current version.
